Now, they're becoming cat's best friend as well.
One day, Reagan's owner returned home to find an old bag of Meow Mix laying abandoned in her yard. She noticed that Reagan was visibly upset and refused to leave the bag. The woman, upon further investigation, found two kittens covered in blood, desparately trying to escape their sealed prison. The blood was from the kittens' dead brothers and sisters, whose crushed bodies remained.
The woman called her local animal rescue and took the kittens into her home to care for them. It was later reported that the bag of kittens was thrown into the road to be killed. Whatever heartless, cruel person did this almost got their wish, had it not been for Reagan.
It's sick. We need less people like this in our world; it would be a MUCH better place without them. We need more people like Reagan's owner -- filled with compassion and generosity. Those who will take time out of their day to help others, whether the ones they help are human or not.
The rescue center posted daily updates to their website to let people know how the kittens were doing. The shelter stated that the kittens were doing well physically, but there was still a question about their psychological state. Some people may say that animals have no feelings -- I totally disagree. If animals have no feelings, how could you explain this dog staying by his owner's side, even at his funeral?
I just don't understand how some people are so cruel. Reading about events like this breaks my heart; I just can't see how whoever dumped these poor orphaned kittens into the road didn't feel something telling them to stop. I guess that's what's wrong with most people nowadays... they are lacking one of the most important traits of a human being -- a conscience.
THIS IS SO SAD. :( I wrote about animal abuse too, so I completely agree with your stand point on this issue! What that lady did is horrendous and she should be locked up for what she did. On the blog side, good job writing it. The entire blog was very informational and eye-catching.
ReplyDeleteSara, dearest, this makes me want to throw up. The visual that you portrayed in the first paragraph just makes me want to hurl--but good imagery! This is sickening that someone could EVER do something like this to kittys :( It's terrible. And I agree, that animals do have feelings. You can tell when they're sad and when they're their normal, happy selves. I love that you did this article because it is so very you. Your so caring and were probably in just as much disbelief as me, or more, regarding this article. By the way, I LOVE the ending. So poetic, so true.
ReplyDeleteSara, this is probably the saddest post about animals that I have ever read. These little kittys are so cute. I don't understand how anyone could do that to something so prec. I love your blog, it's definetly one of my favorites. Keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteSara, this story is so sad. Why do the people who did that to the kittens think it's okay? If they didn't want the poor kittens anymore, why didn't they just find someone to give the kittens to or take them to the human society so they can find the right homes for the kittens? Your doing a wonderful job on blog. Keep it up! Also, your background is cute. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you want to go hunt down whoever did that to those poor kittens and throw them off a cliff, I'd be down. Like Jenny said, the visual of those kittens honestly makes me gag (I'm sure Jenny would be down to go as well).
ReplyDeleteAs if I wasn't sad enough, the link to Hawkeye really set me off. It genuinely made me tear up. I love my dog so much, I could really relate.
As always, your blog looks awesome and I could tell you cared about this post, which is what makes it so good. (:
